A short 16-mile drive north of Sacred Rock Inn, Mendocino Village holds a distinguished place on the National Register of Historic Places. This lively village is a testament to preservation, boasting exquisite natural surroundings that harmonize effortlessly with its architectural marvels. From graceful Victorian homes to charming New England Salt Box cottages, landmarks such as the iconic Presbyterian Church, Mendocino Hotel, and Kwan Tai Temple adorn the landscape.
Strolling along the historic Main Street and Lansing Avenue, one encounters a delightful array of attractions: quaint toy shops, art galleries, chic boutiques, both new and antiquarian bookstores, indulgent chocolatiers, cozy pubs, eclectic cafes, and restaurants catering to every palate, from food enthusiasts to free spirits and trendsetters alike.
Nestled between the village and the majestic Pacific Ocean lies the Mendocino Headlands State Park. Its winding trails beckon visitors to explore secluded beaches and tranquil overlooks, where the mesmerizing sights of breaching whales and playful sea lions steal the show.
