Greenwood State Beach, also known as “Elk Beach” or “Greenwood Creek State Beach,” is a mere 10-minute walk from Sacred Rock Inn. This beautiful beach is located at the confluence of Greenwood Creek and the Pacific Ocean and offers a wide sandy beach with picnic tables. Visitors will be able to enjoy stunning views of the ocean and nearby Greenwood Creek, as well as unique sea stack rocks that decorate the ocean. On the northern edge of the beach during low tide, visitors can explore a natural sea cave.
To access Greenwood State Beach, walk carefully southbound along the shoulder of Highway 1 (on the right-hand side). You should come to a parking lot area directly across from The Elk Store, which is the entrance to the beach. Walk down the pathway to the bottom of the trail, where you will find the stunning beach. The park is open daily from 6:00 am until one hour after sunset, and dogs are permitted.
Sacred Rock Inn permanently closed on June 1, 2025.
After welcoming guests to this beautiful stretch of the Northern California coast, we have decided to close our doors.
This decision was not made lightly, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who stayed with us, supported us, and helped make Sacred Rock Inn what it is today.
Reservations are no longer being accepted. For any questions or past guest inquiries, please contact us at: info@sacredrockinn.com.
Thank you for being part of our story.
